President and C.E.O. Mitman Resigns |
Phil Mitman announced Monday he will resign his position as Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC) President and C.E.O., effective April 30th. A search for his successor is underway and will be conducted by a LVEDC Search Committee.
Mr. Mitman, who’s led LVEDC since January 3, 2008, will assume leadership of the Easton Area Industrial Developers.
“It has truly been an honor and privilege for me to have served for four years as leader of LVEDC,” Mr. Mitman said. “LVEDC is a superb, highly-professional economic development corporation that focuses on job creation and business investments. I will continue to support the organization and oversee key 2012 initiatives including the $3.4M HUD Lehigh Valley Sustainability Grant, LVEDC’s private-sector investments and implementing our Strategic Plan.”
During Mr. Mitman’s tenure his priorities were to strengthen LVEDC’s position as the leader in the Lehigh Valley’s regional economic development efforts to attract, retain and expand businesses and jobs; improve the organization’s creditability and transparency; help strengthen the regional business and political alliances and to implement the LVEDC Strategic Plan.
“Phil has done a tremendous job during his tenure,” Mr. Bernhard said. “He helped to raise the credibility of LVEDC as the only two-county regional economic development corporation and as one of only 29 economic development organizations in the United States to receive Accredited Economic Development Organization (AEDO) certification.”
Mr. Mitman resides in the City of Easton with his wife, Linda. He has four children and seven grandchildren.
