Telling Stories -- The Inexpensive Way To Increase Sales
Join Us Feb. 16 3-6 p.m. For Workshop and Happy Hour
Do you tell stories when you meet with a client? If not, you should. As humans, we are hard-wired to listen to stories. We are a congenial, social race. Stories let us get to know each other and when we know each other, we are more comfortable working together. One way to tell these stories - and break the ice - is to get them on paper and online.
Stories put the components of your service or product into human form. Readers are able to relate to the customer. They let people see how a product used in one industry can be adapted to another and they have been very popular with both my client's dealers and the end customers.
In short, they sell. Why?
They let you start a conversation rather than a meeting. Stories aimed at selling accomplish three goals: They identify a common problem and solution, they personalize the product or service and they create emotional ties between the seller and the buyer. They help you build a bond, which often becomes a long-term relationship rather than just a quick sale.
